"Anamika Restaurant, Penang – A Taste of Home in Every Bite If you’re craving authentic South Indian flavours in Penang, especially true Tamil-style non-veg dishes, Anamika Restaurant is an absolute gem. The moment you step in, the aroma itself feels like home. Their chicken fry is outstanding—perfectly spiced, crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy inside. The fish curry is another highlight, rich with traditional flavours and that unmistakable Tamil Nadu touch. Every dish feels like it’s prepared with care and a respect for authentic recipes. A pleasant surprise is their cow-milk tea—smooth, comforting, and beautifully balanced. And yes, their coffee is genuinely good, strong enough to satisfy any South Indian coffee lover. Warm service, homely flavours, and consistently great food make Anamika Restaurant a must-visit spot in Penang. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience real South Indian taste away from home."

"I recently had the opportunity to dine at Anamika Spice Kitchen in Penang, and it turned out to be a truly satisfying experience, especially for anyone craving authentic, home-style South Indian flavors. The highlight of the meal was the fish head curry served in a claypot. From the moment it arrived, the aroma alone set expectations high. The curry was rich, deeply spiced, and beautifully balanced — not overly oily, yet full of bold flavor. The claypot presentation kept it hot throughout the meal, allowing the spices and tangy notes to deepen with every bite. The fish itself was fresh and tender, absorbing the curry perfectly. The gravy had a wonderful harmony of heat, tanginess, and earthy spice, making it ideal to pair with rice. Every spoonful felt comforting and satisfying, reminiscent of traditional homemade cooking. Service was friendly and efficient, and the overall atmosphere was simple and welcoming — the kind of place where the focus is clearly on good food rather than flashy décor."

"Had rasam with chicken varuval at Anamika’s Spice Kitchen and it was really comforting. Reminded me of home-cooked meals, like something our grandmothers would make. Overall, a very satisfying and nostalgic meal. Will definitely come back to try more."

"This wasn’t a planned visit. We chose this shop simply because it was close to the hotel we stayed at. With fingers crossed about the taste and service, we were honestly a little doubtful the moment we arrived—especially seeing how “spacious” the shop was. But oh my, how they proved us wrong. We ordered two egg tosai with chicken gravy and peratal, and it instantly brought back memories of my late mother-in-law’s cooking. Even the tea was perfectly made. What started as a simple stop to fill our stomachs turned into a hearty meal, ended up having an egg tosai, idly, and vadai in one go. That’s how good the food was. And the price? Honestly way, way below what we expected. A truly pleasant surprise. Will definitely come back every time we’re in Penang."

"Ate here at lunch. We both had the ASK Special Biryani. This is a selection of biryani rice, chicken 65, mutton curry, boiled egg and onion raita. We also added two poppadoms. It was absolutely lovely, everything on the plate was 10/10. It was truly authentic Malaysian Indian cuisine and we can't wait to go back. The place had a steady stream of Indian and Malaysian customers, proving this to be a genuine locals dining spot. Highly recommended!"
